Quick reminder: Sailor Moon and its characters are the property of Takeuchi Naoko and a bunch of other people. They don't belong to me. I've just borrowed them for a not-for-profit story. Etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. You all know how it goes.

This really is going to be the last Crystal Weaver story. And I mean it, this time. No, really. Stop laughing. It's been a lot of fun, but damnit, a story needs an end. Otherwise, it just degenerates into episodic garbage. And, as Stayka has remarked to me, it would be difficult to top this one. (I'm also running out of Dread Empire novels to steal titles from... ^_^;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;)

I should take this opportunity to note a timeline glitch. Because I didn't have this story planned out at the time I wrote "An Ill Fate Marshaling", I made an error regarding the date of Prince Diamond's revival. It actually happens in 3023, not the date noted in the earlier story.

My many thanks to all the people who've beta'd this, let me bounce ideas off them, or just plain encouraged me. It wouldn't have gotten done without you, guys.

I trust I needn't tell anyone that large parts of this are going to make no sense at all if you haven't read all the previous stories.

Well, this is it, folks. The epic to end all epics. I'm expecting this to weigh in at twice the length of "Ill Fate", although, as of now, it's only a third finished. Enjoy. And feedback is appreciated, as always--send to eliddell@despammed.com.

A Pronounciation Guide to the Crystal Weaver Language

Yes, I ended up inventing one -- phonology, grammar, the whole nine yards. What's below is just a quick guide to what it should sound like, for those who are curious about such things. In the unlikely event that you're curious about how the language actually works, gentle reader, email me and we'll talk about it.

- "a" as in "pat"
- "e" as in "pet"
- "i" as in "kit"
- "o" as in "joke"
- "u" as in "flute"
- "ö" is a front-rounded vowel not found in English. It matches the sound in German "möchte", or the "eu" in French "feu".
- "ü" is also not found in English. Matches French "tu", German "über".

Most consonants are pronounced as they would be in English, with the following exceptions:
- "s" is always voiceless (that is, it makes the sound in "snake", not the one in "president").
- "zh" has the sound of the "s" in "measure" or the "j" in French "je".
- "rr" is a rolled "r"
- "ch" is the sound from Scottish "loch" or German "ach", not the one from "church".
- I don't know exactly how to describe "kh", but it's a single sound, rather more breathy than "k".

Stress always falls on the next-to-last syllable of a word.
